I really like this dense presentation of Caroline McHugh. At first I didn’t know what attracted me most: the cut-out outfit from a modernist album about nature, her – at the same time – bizarre and appealing accent, the warm tone and calm posture (with something from the air of a Tibetan monk) or the profound, human and sensitive meaning of her message, pigmented with many encouraging references. Here are some random postulates of the many with which she set her speech in the expectations of the audience:
– people who are afraid to be themselves will work for those who do not have that fear
– the only obligation we have in this world is to be as good as we can be
– humbleness does not mean to underestimate yourself (to diminish yourself) but to think of yourself less
Towards the end, I realized that what delighted me in her appearance was that she was genuine, authentic, she was herself moment by moment. She was what she taught…

In his work the coach is liable for being authentic at every moment of his relationship with the partner client; otherwise, the space created for the process remains artificial, boring, unproductive. Similarly, if she or he does not remain authentic, the client loses the chance to get to the core of her/his situation.
